Jessica just completed the Nunavut Sivaniksivuk program in Ottawa, Ontario. This training program for Inuit beneficiaries
teaches all aspects of the Nunavut Land Claims Agreement, which includes parts on culture and the history of Inuit. From hearing
about archaeology from Robert McGhee she became interested in applying for this field school.
Jessica has a great (and quirky!) sense of humour. During the field school she learnt a lot about her ancestors as well
as how to be more patient - because you can't rush digging or else vital information could be lost.
She would like to see more of these types of field schools happening closer to communities so that there would be more
opportunities for Inuit to learn without having to go away.
