I am currently a student at Carleton Univeristy, majoring in Anthropology. I am from Rankin Inlet, Nunavut, and I aspire
to become an archaeologist.
Qilalukkat was my third field school (my first as a field assistant), all of which were
offered through Inuit Heritage Trust.
What I will always remember about Qilalukkat is the rain, the 'squitoes, the
cold and the honey bucket. Nee, I'm joking. However, I can't help but feel cold all the time, it doesn't matter where I am.
Thank you Ivan, for bringing tuktu over once (in hopes it would warm me up). I will never forget your generosity!
I will never forget the awesome scenery, and how the weather was always the best at night. I took so many photos of the
scenery, it's crazy, but well worth it!!! I think what I will always remember is the field trip to Igarjuaq, and how our guys
left us slow ones behind, so that they can race to the top. I think I will also always remember how my trowel broke the first
day I actually got to do some digging! I think.... Man, there are too many cool memories to forget. I had an awesome time!
Team Qilalukkat rocks!!!!!! Taimakalauq.
